Gold Sheen Obsidian is a striking form of volcanic glass, prized for the shimmering golden sheen that moves across its surface, caused by tiny gas bubbles trapped during its formation.

Metaphysically, it carries all the protective, grounding qualities of classic black obsidian including being known as a powerful shadow-work stone, helping to confront hidden truths, cut through illusion, and offer psychic protection during emotionally intense periods. What sets the gold sheen variety apart is its added connection to personal power and inner strength, like my favorite chakra the solar plexus!  The golden flecks are associated with reclaiming your confidence and reflecting your own inner light, even while doing deep emotional work. This dual nature, protection paired with empowerment, also ties it back to the solar plexus chakra *my favorite* which is the energy center governing willpower and self-assurance. Carry it as a grounding touchstone, keep it nearby during meditation, or place it directly over your upper stomach to support both shadow work and a stronger sense of personal power. This is truly an amazing stone with an incredible personality and loads of great energy!
